This recipe is from one of my Bavarian recipe books from 1976.

yield makes about 4 pints

Ingredients

  • 1 pint chopped, green tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 pints chopped, tart apples, peeled and cored
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 pound raisins
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 cup vinegar

How To Make tomato mincemeat

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients in large saucepan and bring to a rapid boil, and simmer until thick , about 25 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and seal. No water bath necessary.
  • Step 2
    Store on pantry shelf- After opening store in refrigerator.
