Ingredients For apricot jam

  • 2 lb
    apricots, washed and patted dry
  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest
  • 1 1/2 oz
orange liqueur such as triple sec, grand marnier, or cointreau

How To Make apricot jam

  • 1
Cut apricots in half and discard the stones. Cut them in cubes and transfer them to a large pot.
  • 2
Add sugar, orange and lemon juice, and orange zest. Set the heat to medium, stir well until the ingredients are blended and the sugar is dissolved.
  • 3
Simmer for 15 minutes and skim off any foam if needed; stir often.
  • 4
Five minutes before time is up, add some orange liqueur. Stir well and simmer for the remaining time.
  • 5
Fill up the sterilized jars, leaving ½-inch head space. Seal and transfer jars into a boiling water bath – make sure the jars are covered with at least 1 inch of water.
  • 6
When the water returns to a full boil, process for 10 minutes.
  • 7
Transfer jars to a wire rack away from any draft to cool completely, about 12 hours. Store in a cool, dark area.
