beef sandwich au jus dipping sauce
Okay, you’ve got the ingredients for an excellent French dip sandwich; however, you lack the dipping sauce (au jus). I HATE it when that happens. This is a recipe for making some sauce that will compliment a nice French dip sandwich, or any other beef you choose to drizzle it on. It’s simple to make, and it doesn’t require cooking any beef. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup crisp white wine (sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, pinot gris, pinot blanc)
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon tamari
- 2 cups beef stock, not broth

Step 1PREP/PREPARE

Step 2Gather and prep your ingredients.

Step 3Place the grapeseed oil in a sauté pan, or pot over medium-high heat.

Step 4Add the onions, carrots, and mushrooms.

Step 5Stir until the veggies begin to brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Step 6Add the garlic, and continue to cook (while stirring) for an additional 2 minutes.

Step 7Add the wine, Worcestershire, and tamari.

Step 8Scrap up any brown bits (fonds) with a wooden spoon, and allow them to dissolve into the liquid.

Step 9Pour in the beef stock, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Step 10Pour the sauce through a fine mesh strainer, and discard the solids.

Step 11Keep the sauce warm until ready for use.
