Kalamata Olive Hummus

Shawn A Reed

Well I've been wanting to make this for a long time and just kept forgetting to pick up the ingredients when I was at the store, ugh.... But I remembered this week. I use to buy this already prepared at a store in Vermont when I lived up there and I tried to find it here in PA where I live now but to my dismay I couldn't find it anywhere.
I checked online for a recipe and picked and choose the ingredients I thought I would like best.

I hope you like it :)

PS. Even my meat and potato Man Loves this!!

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Let's hear it for Mediterranean flair! This hummus is perfectly tangy and creamy... a real winner!

1 can(s)
garbanzo beans, drained
1/2 c
kalamata olives, pitted
1 clove
juice from 1 lemon
1/4 tsp
cumin, ground
hot pepper flakes (to your liking, i used 2 shakes)
3 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin ( i started with 3 tablespoons but added a few more splashes of oil until i got the consistiency i was looking for)

1Place all ingredients in a food processor and puree, add extra oil as needed until you have a smooth and thick paste
2I like to eat this with cabata bread cubed up for dipping. Honestly I could eat this on just about and bread there is! YUMMY :) Enjoy!!
