The wife of my former boss gave me this recipe years ago. I broke it out earlier this summer for the first time in a long time. I've made it three times this summer. It can be a main dish salad if you cut up and add cooked chicken to it.

FOR THE SALAD:

1 large
head of green cabbage
1 c
finely chopped celery
8
chopped green onions
8 Tbsp
toasted, slivered almonds
2 pkg
uncooked ramen noodles broken up

FOR THE DRESSING:

4 Tbsp
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
pepper
2 pkg
ramen noodle seasoning packets
2 tsp
toasted sesame oil
1 c
salad oil (aka vegetable oil)
6 Tbsp
rice vinegar

How to Make Asian Cabbage Salad

Step-by-Step

  • 1Shred cabbage, chop celery and onion and mix together.
  • 2Toast almonds under broiler or in a frying pan on the stove top and combine with broken up ramen noodles.
  • 3Mix dressing ingredients together.
  • 4Just before serving mix vegetables, almonds, noodles and dressing all together and serve immediately.
