My Mother made this for special occasions when I was still at home. Almost forgot about it. However started thinking of special memories and home. Made it for Easter dinner this year.

Ingredients For frosted orange salad

  • DISSOLVE GELATIN IN 2 CUP HOT WATER. DILUTE WITH 2 CUP COLD WATER.
  • 1 (8 oz.) box
    orange gelatin (or flavor of your choice)
  • 4 c
    water
  • 2 md
    bananas (sliced)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can
    pineapple, crushed and drained
  • SAVE DRAINED PINEAPPLE JUICE
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 lg
    egg (beaten)
  • 1 c
    cool whip

How To Make frosted orange salad

    Assemble Ingredients.

    Use 9 x 9 inch pan

    Put gelatin in the Refrigerator until partially set.

    When Gelain begins to partially set, fold in Sliced bananas and crushed pineapple.

    Allow to completely set up in the Refrigerator.

    Using a small sauce pan, mix sugar and flour. Add enough water to drained pineapple juice to make l cup and stir into mixture in pan.

    Quickly stir in l beaten egg. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Allow to cool to room temperature.

    Fold in Cool Whip

    Spread frosting on top of gelatin. Let this set up overnight.

    This can be made several days in advance.
