head iceberg lettuce
3 or 4
ripe tomatoes, cut in eighths
1 c
swiss cheese, cut in julienne strips
1 c
ham, cut in julienne strips, or turkey or shrimp
1/2 c
green spanish olives, pitted
4 tsp
grated romano cheese
1/4 c
white wine vinegar
1 c
extra-virgin spanish olive oil
8 clove
garlic, minced
2 tsp
worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp
oregano, dried
4 tsp
lemon juice

How to Make '1905' Salad

Step-by-Step

  • 1Toss all salad ingredients in a bowl, except Romano Cheese.
  • 2Mix garlic, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Beat until smooth with a wire wisk. Add olive oil, gradually beating to form an emulsion. Stir in vinegar and lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • 3Add dressing to salad and toss well. Add Romano cheese and toss one more time.
