'1905' salad

I needed a salad recipe to feed a crowd - this worked just great!

Ingredients

  • 1 - head iceberg lettuce
  • 3 or 4 - ripe tomatoes, cut in eighths
  • 1 cup swiss cheese, cut in julienne strips
  • 1 cup ham, cut in julienne strips, or turkey or shrimp
  • 1/2 cup green spanish olives, pitted
  • 4 teaspoons grated romano cheese
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup extra-virgin spanish olive oil
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice

How To Make '1905' salad

  • Step 1
    Toss all salad ingredients in a bowl, except Romano Cheese.
  • Step 2
    Mix garlic, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Beat until smooth with a wire wisk. Add olive oil, gradually beating to form an emulsion. Stir in vinegar and lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Add dressing to salad and toss well. Add Romano cheese and toss one more time.
