This is my brother's favorite salad that Mom would make! You can use any combination of fruit the sky's the limit!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This is a really simple fruit salad spotlighting more citrusy flavors. The sauce is really thin and the perfect balance of sweetness with a touch of savoriness. Even though it is really thin, it still coats the fruit and leaves a nice flavor. We loved the combination of fruits - not one fruit overpowers another. Ingredients

  • 1
    banana, sliced
  • 1
    apples, golden delicious, sliced
  • 1
    orange, peeled and sliced
  • 1 c
    purple grapes, halved
  • 1 c
    strawberries and/or kiwis, sliced
  • 1 small
    lemon, juiced
  • 1
    small can pineapple tidbits, drained; reserve juice
  • SAUCE

  • 1 pinch
    sugar
  • ·
    reserved pineapple juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    mayonnaise

How to Make Mom's Fruit Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all of the fruit in a medium bowl.
  2. Pour lemon juice over them; set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sugar; stir well. Add pineapple juice a little at a time. The sauce should be a little thin, but not runny.
  4. Pour sauce over fruit; stir well. Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Chill salad and remove right before you're ready to eat (within 30 mins.- 1 hour or the bananas will go brown). Enjoy!
