This salad goes very well with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

The first time I made this I wasn't sure how it would be perceived by my family. But the combinations of the sour cream and cream cheese went so well with the sweet jello.


Give it a try..it really is good!

Ingredients

  • 3 pkg
    ( 3 ounces each) strawberry flavored jello
  • 3 c
    boiling water
  • 2
    ripe, bananas
  • 1 pkg
    ( 16 ounces) frozen strawberries
  • 1 can(s)
    ( 20 ounces) crushed pineapple in juice
  • 1 pkg
    ( 8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c
    sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar

How to Make Holiday Fruit Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Gather ingredients and 9 x 13 pan.
  2. In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water into gelatin mixture. Slice bananas into gelatin mixture. Add frozen strawberries and undrained pineapple.
  3. Pour half the mixture into 13 x 9 inch pan. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
  4. In a mixer bowl, beat cream cheese with sour cream and sugar; spread over chilled layer, Gently spoon remaining gelatin mixture on top.

    Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours. Cut into squares; serve on lettuce lined salad plates. Garnish with additional pineapple, if desired.
  5. Enjoy!
