A medicine chest can be as close as the back yard if you know what to look for. THese grow as weeds un the US. This salve is great for bug bites, bee stings, blisters, scrapes, and burns!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup fresh plantain (see photo if you don't know what it looks like)
  • 1 cup sunflower, almond, or coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh sage
  • 3 tablespoons grated beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon honey

How To Make green salve

  • Step 1
Chop the herbs (doesn't need to be too fine) and put in a double boiler (or I use one of those small crock pots) with the oil.
  • Step 2
Heat on low for two hours.
  • Step 3
Cool, then strain through several layers of cheesecloth until you've removed most of the plant bits.
  • Step 4
Put it back in double boiler or crock pot, and add the beeswax and honey. Melt together.
  • Step 5
Cool again. Before it becomes solid, pour into a clean jar.
