awesome garlic shrimp in a creamy cheese sauce
This is a great tasting dish that you can have on the table in under an hour. I worked on this for a bit until I got the proportions correct. I think that the bacon, and the cream cheese just send it over the top. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 2 slices thick-sliced bacon, chopped
- 2 ounces sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 pound shrimp, 60 count, shelled & deveined
- - salt, kosher variety, fine grind, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 3/4 cup half & half
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 ounce cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 8 ounces pasta, your choice

Step 1PREP/PREPARE

Step 2Gather your ingredients.

Step 3Add the bacon to a large sauté pan over medium heat.

Step 4Cook until beginning to brown.

Step 5Add the sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and garlic to the pan.

Step 6Sauté until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 7Add the shrimp, a pinch of salt, and the paprika, to the pan.

Step 8Stir and sauté for an additional 2 minutes.

Step 9Add the half & half, and crushed red pepper to the pan.

Step 10Bring up to a simmer.

Step 11Add the softened cream cheese, and Parmesan.

Step 12Stir until the cheese is melted.

Step 13Chef’s Note: If the sauce is still too thick, add half & half a bit at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
