leftover essentials:cheesy french-bread turkey dip
Thanksgiving is in your rearview mirror, and you’re left with a bunch of leftovers. So, what do you do? How about easy/peasy turkey morsels with some gravy for dipping. I thought I would make this French Bread Sammie, using leftovers. Actually, this is my day-after-Thanksgiving go-to recipe for lunch or a light dinner. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 1 large french loaf, freshly baked, if possible
- - salt, kosher variety, to taste
- - black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
- 1 pound turkey, chopped
- 4 tablespoons cranberry sauce
- 1 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
- 3-4 slices provolone
- ADDITIONAL ITEMS
- - gravy, for dipping

Step 1PREP/PREPARE

Step 2Gather Your Ingredients.

Step 3Place a rack in the bottom position, and preheat the oven to 375f (190c).

Step 4Cut the French loaf in half, and scoop out the center, to make a boat.

Step 5Line the bottom of the bread with the provolone.

Step 6Brush with the cranberry sauce.

Step 7Add the chopped turkey.

Step 8Season with some salt & pepper.

Step 9Add the shredded Gruyere to the top.

Step 10Place in the preheated oven, and bake until the cheese gets nice and bubbly.

Step 11PLATE/PRESENT

Step 12Thickly slice and serve with the warm gravy. Enjoy
