Leftover Essentials:Cheesy French-Bread Turkey Dip

Thanksgiving is in your rearview mirror, and you’re left with a bunch of leftovers. So, what do you do? How about easy/peasy turkey morsels with some gravy for dipping.

I thought I would make this French Bread Sammie, using leftovers.

Actually, this is my day-after-Thanksgiving go-to recipe for lunch or a light dinner.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

  • 1 large
    french loaf, freshly baked, if possible
  • ·
    salt, kosher variety, to taste
  • ·
    black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 1 lb
    turkey, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp
    cranberry sauce
  • 1 c
    gruyere cheese, shredded
  • 3-4 slice

  • ·
    gravy, for dipping

How to Make Leftover Essentials:Cheesy French-Bread Turkey Dip


  2. Gather Your Ingredients.
  3. Place a rack in the bottom position, and preheat the oven to 375f (190c).
  4. Cut the French loaf in half, and scoop out the center, to make a boat.
  5. Line the bottom of the bread with the provolone.
  6. Brush with the cranberry sauce.
  7. Add the chopped turkey.
  8. Season with some salt & pepper.
  9. Add the shredded Gruyere to the top.
  10. Place in the preheated oven, and bake until the cheese gets nice and bubbly.
  12. Thickly slice and serve with the warm gravy. Enjoy
  13. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
