Hey… It’s Saturday… and I’m playing around in the test kitchen. I love ribs… grilled, baked, whatever… I love ribs. These were an experiment that turned out pretty dang good, so here you go. So, you ready… let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chinese five spice powder
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt or 2 teaspoons table salt
- 3-4 pounds spare ribs or baby back ribs
- 1/2 cup filtered water
How To Make asian inspired slow cooker ribs

Step 1Gather your ingredients.

Step 2Mix the spices together in a small bowl.

Step 3Use your fingers to break up the brown sugar… A chef’s best tools are his/her hands.

Step 4Remove the silver skin, by cutting under it, and then using a paper towel to grab and pull it off the ribs.

Step 5Cut the ribs into sections that will fit into your slow cooker.

Step 6Sprinkle the spices onto the ribs and rub.

Step 7Add the water to the slow cooker.

Step 8Add the ribs.

Step 9Cook on low for about 6 hours.

Step 10Chef’s Tip: At the end of the 6 hours, the rib meat should be tender and separate easily from the bone.

Step 11Slice the ribs into individual pieces, and add some sauce.

Step 12Serve while still warm. Enjoy.
