veggies with smoked gouda cheese sauce

If you like your veggies tender crisp try this simple recipe. You can use your favorite veggies and use this smokey cheese sauce to make any pasta or veggie taste great! I like to use this sauce for my Mac and Cheese! To die for! You can add a little cooked meat or bacon to this also.

Ingredients For veggies with smoked gouda cheese sauce

  • VEGGIES:
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3 c
    shredded cabbage
  • 1 can
    cannelloni beans, drained and rinsed
  • SMOKEY CHEESE SAUCE:
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2 oz
    smoked gouda cheese
  • 2 dash
    hot sauce-more or less to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make veggies with smoked gouda cheese sauce

    Veggies: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and oil. Add cabbage, season with a little salt and pepper andsautée 3-5 minutes. When cabbage is to your desired tenderness, add the beans and turn off the heat. Set aside.

    Smokey Gouda Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to make a roux; cook 1 to 2 minutes , until it smells fragrant. Whisk in milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

    Reduce heat and stir in cheese until it melts. Once cheese has melted pour over cabbage and bean mixture. Stir to coat evenly. Taste and season with a little hot sauce and more pepper and salt is desired. Enjoy!
