Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- 1 - onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 - 14.5 oz can italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 3/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon each, salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup light cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 12 ounces ziti pasta or other pasta
How To Make tangy tomato cream sauce w/ ziti

Step 1Cook pasta as directed and drain. return to pot. In saucepan, saute onion and garlic in oil over medium heat.

Step 2Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Boil gently for 15 mins.. Remove from heat. Stir in light cream and butter.

Step 3Pour sauce over pasta, toss to coat evenly.
