Our most favorite, easy, yet great for picky kids lasagna. Deliciously tender noodles and meat, and wonderful flavors in the sauce, as it slow cooks for several hours.

Ingredients For sydney's crockpot lasagna

  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic (fresh cloves or in the refrigerated jar)
  • 1 lb
    ground hamburger
  • 24 - 32 oz
    tomato sauce or your favorite go-to jar of sauce - you need approx. 24 - 32 ounces. {if using jarred sauce, you don't have to add the remaining seasonings}
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    oregano, dried
  • 2 Tbsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 5 - 7
    basil leaves (or about 2 tablespoons basil paste in a tube)
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • FOR THE CHEESE MIXTURE
  • 15 oz
    ricotta cheese
  • 15 oz
    cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 c
    parsley (freshly chopped)
  • NOODLES
  • 1 box
    lasagna noodles
  • CHEESE FOR THE TOP
  • 2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make sydney's crockpot lasagna

  • 1
    Spray the liner of the crock pot (or use a slow cooker liner) with Pam, pour one ladle-full of sauce into the crock pot, and add 1 cup water.

    Add noodles, followed by some of the cottage cheese/ricotta, followed by some more sauce, repeating until the last layer - top the last layer of noodles with only sauce (you'll add the cheese in step 4, below).

    Turn on low for 4 - 6 hours, or until done.

    During the last hour of cooking, sprinkle the top with the mozzarella cheese.
