mild and tasty italian meat sauce for pasta

This is the recipe I used to prepare for my children. While they were living at home I would make a large batch (4 times the recipe) so I could freeze the extra for future meals. Now I add some red pepper flakes to spice it up a bit. As it is written it is child-friendly or for people who do not like much spice.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cans tomato paste, (5 1/2 oz size)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How To Make mild and tasty italian meat sauce for pasta

  • Step 1
    Brown beef lightly; drain fat. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft.
  • Step 2
    Stir in tomato paste, water and seasonings.
  • Step 3
    Simmer, uncovered, 1 hour. Serve over hot spaghetti or other pasta as preferred.
