Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

This sauce is incredible. One of my own concoctions but good enough for a marriage proposal. Simmering this sauce just makes it better. The batch is large enough to freeze some for later use. If there is any left!

    ground beef
  • 2
    green peppers seeds removed and chopped
  • 2
    onions chopped
  • 1 can(s)
  • 2 large
    cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 large
    cans of tomatoes
  • 2 can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato juice
  • 1
    salt and pepper (season to taste)
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 1 tsp
    sweet basil
  • 2 tsp
  • 1
    garlic to taste

How to Make Homemade Spaghetti Sauce


  1. Brown ground beef and add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 8 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. This sauce can be frozen or canned to use at a later time.

    NOTE: Spices should be adjusted to your taste. This sauce is quite mellow.
