This sauce is incredible. One of my own concoctions but good enough for a marriage proposal. Simmering this sauce just makes it better. The batch is large enough to freeze some for later use. If there is any left!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 2 - green peppers seeds removed and chopped
  • 2 - onions chopped
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 2 large cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 large cans of tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato juice
  • 1 - salt and pepper (season to taste)
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon sweet basil
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 - garlic to taste

How To Make homemade spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef and add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 8 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. This sauce can be frozen or canned to use at a later time. NOTE: Spices should be adjusted to your taste. This sauce is quite mellow.
