This comes from a vegetatian magazine and it was so long ago, I apolizize that I don't remember the name of the mag. This is lacto/ovo/vegan. As I have mentioned before I went vegetarian for 10 years, and have 3 vegetarians in my family, 2 of them vegan. This is very tasty and filling too.

Ingredients
- 2 slices rye bread, we like seeded jewish rye
- 2 slices swiss cheese
- 1 tablespoon grainy deli style mustard
- 2 slices ripe tomato
- 1/4 cup sauerkraut, well drained
- 10 sprigs of spray butter per slice of bread
- 1 tablespoon thousand island dressing, or russian dressing
How To Make tomato rubens on rye

Step 1Spritz butter on one side of each slice of bread

Step 2place one l slice of cheese on each unbuttered side of bread.

Step 3Place tomato, sauerkraut and dressing next.

Step 4Grill in a heated teflon fry pan until golden and the cheese melts.
