Everyone has own stuffed cabbage recipe. It's always rice with meat stuffing, rolled in cabbage leaves. I thought this way is easier and it looks more nice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rice, long grain
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large egg
  • medium cabbage head
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How To Make stuffed cabbage my way

  • Step 1
    Cooke rice, fry onion on oil until golden. mix cooked rice and rest ingredients ( same like you would make regular stuffed cabbage).
  • Step 2
    Boil water, put whole cabbage head to water and boil for a few minutes, take out cut off soft leaves and put back to boil until all done. cut out thick stem.
  • Step 3
    Pan for bundt cake grease well and lay leaves on both size in the pan leaving some part of the leaves out of pan ( so you will cover the top of rice on top).
  • Step 4
    Fill in with the rice and meat., top cover with leaves. Cover all with aluminum foil. Bake in pre-heated oven 375 F for 1/2 hour, lower temp. to 350F and cook for 1 hour more. serve with tomato sauce or mushroom sauce
  • Step 5
    I usually mix more meat than rice and often mix ground beef and pork.
