moist meatloaf rhonda's
This is my favorite way to cook meatloaf, I like my meatloaf moist and I love meatloaf sandwiches, so after trial & error this is how I get it that way. This recipe works great with regular ground beef and 86% lean ground beef,*Note What I experienced with ground beef that is 96% lean you will need to sauté: The onion, celery,& garlic because this grade of meat cooks to fast for the veggies to cook inside the meatloaf.

How To Make moist meatloaf rhonda's
-
Step 1Gather Your Ingredients.
-
Step 2Add hamburger, onion, egg, salt & pepper to taste, garlic, sage, & celery. Mix with hands completely.
-
Step 3Pour 1/2 of the can of tomato sauce in the mixture and reserve the other 1/2 for the top of the meatloaf in the last 15 min of cooking.
-
Step 4Mix in the rolled oats.
-
Step 5Now mix in the bread croutons. There should be a lot of bread croutons to meat ratio. This makes it moist. I use homemade croutons.
-
Step 6Put in an 8 X 8 inch Pan and form a loaf.
-
Step 7Bake Covered at 375 degree oven for 45 min. *Note using 96% lean ground beef your cooking time will be considerably less. About 30 min.
-
Step 8When you check your meatloaf about 20-25 min later add the other 1/2 can of tomato sauce. And remove the cover. And bake for the last 15 min of cooking.
