I use Ham in a lot of dishes year round. I buy the Ham steaks when they are on sale. They are great for more than Breakfast. I love to chop them and add them to Casseroles. Kielbasa is really good in this recipe as well. This recipe has been changed from an original that I had for many years. This is a simple tasty dish that I personally like very much. I know you'll like it too. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 bag(s)
    extra wide egg noodles cooked aldente and drained
  • 1/4 c
    butter plus 3 tablespoons divided for bread crumbs and sauteed onions
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese
  • 1/2
    a large sweet onion chopped and sauteed
  • 1 1/4 c
    sour cream
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    divided seasoned panko bread crumbs
  • dash(es)
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 3 c
    chopped ham,or kielbasa

How to Make Nor's Ham and Noodle Bake

Step-by-Step

  1. Butter a casserole dish. Mix Bread crumbs with 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Sprinkle on the bottom of casserole dish.
  2. Boil the noodles in water until aldente. Drain,and mix with 1/4 cup of the butter. Saute onion in 1 tablespoon of butter. Mix Onion in to noodles and butter. Salt and pepper the noodles well to taste.
  3. Combine the egg,sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix really well together. Add to the noodle mixture with the chopped ham. Combine all together well.
  4. Pour in to the bread crumb coated casserole dish. Sprinkle the top with Paprika,and buttered bread crumbs with a little Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake at 350 degree's for 45 minutes,or until done.
