`bavarian kraut and sausage roll
When I was growing up MOM made this quite often. She made her own Kraut and homemade sausage, this is one thing the family looked forward too.

Serves 4 to 6
Ingredients
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1/2 cup oats, quick cooking
- 1 - egg slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 16 ounces sauerkraut snipped
- 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
- 3 tablespoons chopped onion
- 4 slices bacon
- 1/4 cup shredded swiss cheese
How To Make `bavarian kraut and sausage roll

Step 1Combine sausage, oats, salt, and Worcestershire sauce and blend well. Put on waxed paper and make a 10 by 7 rectangle.

Step 2Combine sauerkraut, caraway seeds, and onion. Spread mixture evenly on sausage rectangle. Roll up, jelly roll fashion.

Step 3Place bacon slices over top. Place in a 12 by 8 inch baking dish.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hour.

Step 5Five minutes before removing from oven sprinkle with cheese over top and return to oven to melt cheese

Step 6Serves 4 to 6. NOTE: For a less crusty surface, cover during first hour of baking.
