This has been sitting in my recipe file for decades and I don't think I've made it since before my husband passed. It's an easy dish to make and fills you up and tastes good too. Good if you're on a budget.

Ingredients

2 c
elbow macaroni
3 to 4 Tbsp
butter
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 c
celery, chopped fine
1 lb
ground beef
1 can(s)
tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make PASTA & GROUND BEEF CASSEROLE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
  • 2Place butter in a large skillet. Add onion and celery and cook slightly (5 minutes--do not brown) over medium-low heat. Add ground beef and fry until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in tomato sauce and simmer, covered, until heated through.
  • 3Pour the hot meat sauce over the macaroni and serve immediately.
