pasta & ground beef casserole
This has been sitting in my recipe file for decades and I don't think I've made it since before my husband passed. It's an easy dish to make and fills you up and tastes good too. Good if you're on a budget. 07-16-14

Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 3 to 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped fine
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can tomato sauce
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make pasta & ground beef casserole

Step 1Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

Step 2Place butter in a large skillet. Add onion and celery and cook slightly (5 minutes--do not brown) over medium-low heat. Add ground beef and fry until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in tomato sauce and simmer, covered, until heated through.

Step 3Pour the hot meat sauce over the macaroni and serve immediately.
