beefy sour cream noodle bake
I found this recipe a long time ago online and it reminds me of a goulash I have made for years, though I haven't tried it yet. This dish is satisfying, easy and inexpensive. Photo: Recipes.com 03-04-15

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1-1/4 cup small curd cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- - freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Step 1In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until cooked; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper, seasoned salt and garlic powder. Simmer on low until ready to combine in casserole.

Step 2Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, green onions, garlic salt and pepper. Add cooked noodles and combine.

Step 3In a greased 13x9" baking dish, assemble in layers: 1/2 of noodle mixture, 1/2 of meat mixture, 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar; repeat all three layers.

Step 4Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 25 minutes until cheese is melted and heated through.
