skillet sweet garlic chicken
Inspired by Amanda W. I just didn't have the option of a slow cooker meal. A few tweaks turn this into a delicious dinner in about an hour and my family loved it.

Ingredients
- 4 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 3 small chicken thighs, skinless and boneless
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- - salt and pepper to taste
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup 7 up soda
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce, low sodium
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 bunch green onions
- - sesame seeds
How To Make skillet sweet garlic chicken

Step 1Season breast and thighs with onion and garlic powder, salt and pepper set aside.

Step 2In a mixing bowl combine the brown sugar, vinegar, soda, minced garlic. Stir until the brown sugar is dissolved.

Step 3Heat a skillet with a quarter cup of olive oil and brown breast and thighs well. Remove and set aside in a warm oven.

Step 4Pour sauce into the same skillet, leave the num nums and simmer until it coats the back of your spoon. Add cornstarch and water mixture.

Step 5Once sauce is thickened return chicken pieces and simmer 10 minutes. Cut off the heat, let sit covered 10 more minutes.

Step 6Plate chicken, pour the sauce over all and sprinkle with chopped onion, red pepper and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
