guilt free sesame chicken

I love Chinese food. I don't like the fat in the deep fried Sesame chicken. This is a delicious lower fat version.You won't even know you are eating low fat. It is really really good. Believe me you will go back for seconds. Enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • 3 - good size boneless skinless chicken breast halves cubed
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil ( note you may need to cook chicken in 2 batches. just cut canola oil in half)
  • SAUCE
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce( i use tamari)
  • 2 cloves grated or pressed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 3 tablespoons chopped scallions
  • COATING FOR CHICKEN
  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1/3 cup corn starch
  • - a dash of salt and pepper
  • RICE
  • 1 - 2 cups cook rice according to directions on bag or box white or brown
  • BROCOLLI
  • 2 - 3 cups steamed broccoli crowns

How To Make guilt free sesame chicken

  • Step 1
    Start cooking the rice according to directions on box or bag. Omit rice for low carb diets.
  • Step 2
    Mix all ingredients together for sauce,and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Cut up chicken in to 1 1/2 inch chunks. (MAKE SURE CHICKEN IS DRY,OR THE CORN STARCH MIXTURE WILL NOT STICK) if mixture is to thin. Add more corn starch.
  • Step 4
    whisk the egg whites in a bowl and add the corn starch salt and pepper. Whisk all together well. Toss chicken in the egg white mixture to coat. Fry in 2 batches. Fry in large pan with Canola oil until no pink shows,and golden brown.
  • Step 5
    Steam Broccoli to desired tenderness. Add broccoli to pan with chicken. Pour the sauce over the chicken and Broccoli and toss to coat.Cook 1 minute. Serve over white or brown rice.
