Old fashioned Texas Chili is made of a flavorful blending of meat and spices . It is rich, thick and hearty. You can eat it by the bowl, over corn chips, noodles or potatoes. Oh and don't forget the sharp cheddar cheese on top !

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 80% lean ground beef
  • 1 pound course ground lean chili meat
  • 1-1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 3 teaspoons chopped garlic from a jar
  • 4 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons mexican oregano (or regular)
  • 1/2 cup chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons comino
  • 1 -8oz. can tomatoe sauce (+ 2 cans water)
  • 0-2 teaspoon cayenne pepper,depending on prefered heat level
  • 7 teaspoons masa (mixed with 1/2 c. water)

How To Make old fashioned texas chili

  • Step 1
    Brown meat in a heavy stewpot until almost done add onions and cook over med heat until onions are wilted .
  • Step 2
    add all other ingredients except masa mixed with water .Stir well breaking up meat. Cover and simmer 30 minuets on low.
  • Step 3
    Add masa mixed with water and stir until thickened simmer 15-20 min stirring occasionally.
