Old fashioned Texas Chili is made of a flavorful blending of meat and spices . It is rich, thick and hearty. You can eat it by the bowl, over corn chips, noodles or potatoes. Oh and don't forget the sharp cheddar cheese on top !

Ingredients

1 lb
80% lean ground beef
1 lb
course ground lean chili meat
1-1 1/2 c
chopped onion
3 tsp
chopped garlic from a jar
4 tsp
paprika
2 tsp
mexican oregano (or regular)
1/2 c
chili powder
2 tsp
comino
1 -8oz. can(s)
tomatoe sauce (+ 2 cans water)
0-2 tsp
cayenne pepper,depending on prefered heat level
7 tsp
masa (mixed with 1/2 c. water)

How to Make Old Fashioned Texas Chili

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown meat in a heavy stewpot until almost done add onions and cook over med heat until onions are wilted .
  • 2add all other ingredients except masa mixed with water .Stir well breaking up meat. Cover and simmer 30 minuets on low.
  • 3Add masa mixed with water and stir until thickened simmer 15-20 min stirring occasionally.
