This dish can be made much easier by not browning anything, but the flavor will not be near the depth of flavor it has by doing the complete process. At least browning the meat and sweating the aromatics will greatly add to the flavor. You can even make this easier by just using the roast, the onion soup mix and beef broth along with onions. Another version you can do is even simpler: Pour two cans of Rotel tomatoes over the roast and let it cook! However you decide this dish cooks while you are at work about 6-9 hours. Bon Appetite!

To make this dish EASY just put everything in the crock pot and let it cook. I would at the very east brown the meat and aromatics. Prep time will depend on which method you decide. I'll always recommend the long version if you have the time. The results are so much better in the finished dish!
