Just made a good hollandaise sauce and thought what, besides eggs, would this go good with…

This is a pasta recipe with shrimp and sausage that totally rocks. I wouldn’t recommend eating this every day… unless you have a death wish :-)

With that said, it is a great dish with awesome flavors.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 6 large
    shrimp, jumbo variety, about 4 ounces
  • 4 oz
    chorizo, mild or hot, your choice
  • 4 oz
    dry fettuccini pasta
  • 1/2 tsp
    olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 Tbsp
    capers, with juice
  • ·
    dry wine, just a splash for deglazing
  • ·
    kosher salt, to taste
  • ·
    black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 1/4 c
    hollandaise sauce, more on that later

How to Make Shrimp Sausage Pasta with Hollandaise Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
  3. Drain the pasta and reserve.
  4. Add the olive oil to a sauté pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the chorizo and allow brown on both sides, about 2-minutes per side.
  6. Chef's Note: Chorizo can generate a bit of grease. When it's finished cooking make sure that you drain off any excess before continuing.
  7. Deglaze the pan with a generous splash of the dry white wine.
  8. Add the shrimp, the capers, and the caper juice to the pan.
  9. Chef's Tip: Sauté the shrimp until they have lost their pink, and begin to turn opaque, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Add the remaining lemon juice, and toss with the ingredients.
  11. Add the pasta to the pan, and toss with the chorizo and shrimp, about 1 minute.
  12. Add to a large plate.
  13. Drizzle with the hollandaise sauce, and serve while still warm. Enjoy.
