Ingredients For crispy oven-fried fish (low fat)

  • 1 lb
    fresh or frozen skinless cod,orange roughy,or catfish fillets
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried dill
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter or margarine,melted

How To Make crispy oven-fried fish (low fat)

    Thaw fish,if frozen. Rinse fish;pat dry with paper towels. Cut into 4 serving size pieces,if necessary. Measure the thickness of each piece. Place milk in a shallow dish. Place flour in another shallow dish. In a 3rd dish combine bread crumbs,Parmesan cheese,dill, and pepper. Add melted butter;stir until combined.

    Dip fish in the milk;coat with flour. Dip again in milk,then bread crumb mixture. Place fish on a greased baking sheet. Bake,uncovered,in a 450 oven for 4-6 minutes per 1/2" thickness or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
