I love sweet and sour recipes and it was all I made when I first got married. My husband still teases me saying that I used to Sweet and Sour him to death. Now, it is a welcomed change when I do make this dish. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small green or red pepper, cut into 2 inch strips
  • 1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 can pineapple chunks in juice ( 8 oz ) undrained
  • 4 cups hot cooked rice

How To Make sweet and sour chicken

  • Step 1
    Mix cornstarch and broth. Heat oil in skillet.
  • Step 2
    Add chicken and stir-fry until browned.
  • Step 3
    Add broth mixture, pineapple, sugar, vinegar and pepper. Heat to a boil. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
  • Step 4
    Cover and cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until done.
  • Step 5
    Serve over rice.
