Here’s a simple recipe that packs a ton of great flavor.

It’s simple to assemble, and only takes 2.5 hours in the slow cooker. You can cut the time in half by using the high setting, but I don’t recommend it… Give the slow cooker a chance to do its thing, and give the ingredients a chance to get to know each other.

And the good news… it’s a one-pot meal.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How to Make Slow Cooker Heaven: Chicken in a Honey/Soy Braise

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. Gather your ingredients.
  3. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Add all the remaining ingredients (except the sesame seeds) into the slow cooker.
  5. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  6. Chef’s Note: For the barbeque sauce I use: Sweet Baby Ray’s regular style.
  7. Add the chicken to the slow cooker and mix with the sauce.
  8. Slow cook on low for 2.5 hours.
  9. Chef's Tip: If you want the sauce a bit thicker, add a tablespoon or two of all-purpose flour to a bit of water and make a slurry. Add that to the sauce in the last hour of cooking.
  10. PLATE/PRESENT
  11. Serve over a mound of white rice, drizzle with that yummy sauce, and garnish with some sesame seeds. Enjoy.
  12. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
