Ingredients

  • FOR SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup garlic chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • FOR FILLING
  • 2 cups 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 package cole slaw mix, with or without carrots
  • 1/2 can bamboo shoots, julienned
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, trimmed of all visible fat
  • 6 (street taco size) tortillas, or butternut lettuce leaves.
  • more sliced green onions for garnishing

How To Make moo shu chicken

  • Step 1
    Mix together sauce ingredients and cook over high heat in a small sauce pan until thickened.
  • Step 2
    Heat peanut oil in a wok. Add chicken chicken. Cook until done.
  • Step 3
    Add in cabbage, sliced green onions, garlic and bamboo shoots and 1/2 of sauce. Cook until softened.
  • Step 4
    Spoon chicken mixture down the center of tortillas or lettuce leaves.
  • Step 5
    Garnish with sliced green onions and serve with more sauce for dipping.
