Fun Fact, The chicken nugget was invented during the 1960's by Robert C. Baker, a Poultry Scientist, and member of the American Poultry Hall of Fame (yes, there is such a thing.) The nuggets were made from chicken breast meat, cut to look like nuggets, then breaded and fried in oil... An American classic was born! .

Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/2 lb
    boneless, skinless chicken thighs and/or breasts
  • 2 c
    corn flake crumbs
  • 1 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder

How to Make Healthier Chicken Nuggets!

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees, spray a 10x15 inch rectangular baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Trim chicken of excess fat and cut into bite-size pieces.
  3. Mix together corn flakes and spices in a large plastic zip lock bag.
  4. Add a few pieces of chicken at a time to crumb mixture. Shake to coat evenly.
  5. Place chicken pieces on prepared baking sheet so that they are not touching.
  6. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces!
