Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups chicken, cooked and chopped
  • 1(8oz) - can water chestnuts,drained
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1(4oz) - can sliced mushrooms,drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or yogurt,plain
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1(8oz) - package crescent rolls
  • - topping:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup almonds, slivered

How To Make crescent chicken casserole

  • Step 1
    Saute celery and onion in butter until softened.Heat next 6 items until bubbly,then mix with celery-onion mixture.
  • Step 2
    Put in a 9 by 13 inch greased pan,then separate crescent rolls into 2 rectangles.Lay over mixture
  • Step 3
    Mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle over top.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrades for 50 minutes.Serve hot.
