My dad would make "goulash" which to him meant throwing in a pot whatever he could find to make a meal. It usually consisted of a pasta, meat, veggies and a sauce. I didn't have an official recipe from him so I just went on memory. Great w/ a crusty French bread or rolls.
1In lg pot over med-high heat, cook beef or ground turkey, using a large spoon to break up while cooking. If using beef, spoon off grease.
2Add onions and minced garlic. Saute for 5 mins. Add broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes w/ the juices, Italian herbs, bay leafs, soy sauce, garlic powder and salt & pepper.
3Stir in mixed veggies. Cover pot. Turn heat to medium. Cook 15 mins, stirring occasionally. Add macaroni, cover and simmer 15-20 mins or until pasta is tender. Turn heat off. Remove bay leaves. Let goulash sit for 10 mins.
