sweet and sour beef balls

This meatball recipe is one that I like to use when company is coming over. I comes from my friend Jewell. This recipe would be great for a tailgate party. See note.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - egg
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • - dash of pepper
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 slices pineapple cut in pieces
  • 3 large green peppers cut in lengthwise strips

How To Make sweet and sour beef balls

  • Step 1
    Mix ground beef,egg 1 tbsp. cornstarch, salt, onion, and pepper. form into balls.
  • Step 2
    Cook in small amounts of fat in skillet until brown, drain.
  • Step 3
    Add pine apple juice to oil in saucepan, bring to a boil over low heat.
  • Step 4
    Mix remaining cornstarch, soy sauce, vinegar cook until thickened stirring constantly.
  • Step 5
    Add meat balls pineapple, and peppers heat thoroughly. Serve hot, Yield 6 to 8 servings.
  • Step 6
    NOTE: This recipe can be made ahead of time just heat before serving.
