The spice is not overwhelming, but perfectly compliments the beef.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot




  • 2-3 lb
    boneless beef chuck roast, cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 1/2 c
    flour, all-purpose variety
  • 2 Tbsp
    grapeseed oil, or more if needed

  • 1/2 medium
    yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 c
    beef stock, not broth
  • 1/2 c
    tamari sauce
  • 1/2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    hot sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 3 Tbsp
    rice wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh ginger, grated
  • ·
    freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ·
    sesame seed, for garnish

How to Make Slow Cooker Heaven: Spicy Oriental Beef


  3. Gather your ingredients.
  4. Add some salt & pepper to the flour, and place in a large bowl.
  5. Toss the beef slices with the flour.
  6. Add the oil to a heavy-bottom pot, over medium heat.
  7. Add the beef in batches to the pot.
  8. Cook until browned, about 3 minutes per side.
  9. Add the browned beef to the slow cooker.
  11. Gather your ingredients.
  12. Add the chopped onions to the pot.
  13. Cook until transluent and soft, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  14. Add the remainder of the sauce ingredients, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  15. Add the sauce to the slow cooker and mix with the beef.
  16. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  18. Cube or shred the beef, serve over long-grained white rice or egg noodles, and then garnish with some sesame seeds. Enjoy.
  19. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
