Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 4 pounds potatoes, medium
- 3 cloves garlic
- 3 - carrots
- 1 - onion
- 1 can peas
- 1 can corn
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 12 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/8 cup olive oil, extra virgin
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
How To Make shepherd's pie

Step 1Peel and cube potatoes and boil in a large pot about 20-25 minutes until soft

Step 2Combine Ground beef and Ground Lamb (Use only ground beef if desired)

Step 3Crush and mince garlic

Step 4Shred carrots lengthwise

Step 5Dice onions

Step 6In a large frying pan add olive oil and garlic cook and dissolve about 7-10 minutes

Step 7Add beef mixture and cook thoroughly until browned

Step 8add ketchup, tomato sauce and worcestershire sauce

Step 9add onions, continue cooking until onions are tender.

Step 10add carrots and mix

Step 11add corn and peas and combine turn heat to low and allow to simmer

Step 12remove potatoes from heat, strain and blend with butter and milk to mashed potato consistency

Step 13Spread a 1-2 inch layer along bottom of pan evenly

Step 14Layer beef mixture on top of potato layer

Step 15Cover beef mixture with second layer of potatoes

Step 16use a spoon to create peaks on potato topping
-
Step 17bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.

Step 18brush melted butter on top of potatoes and cook until golden brown

Step 19remove from oven and allow to cool about 15 minutes

Step 20Plate and enjoy (add sour cream or ketchup for topping)
