Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons basil dried
  • 3 tablespoons oregano, dried
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 8 to 10 - sandwich buns, split horizonally

How To Make italian beef sandwiches

  • Step 1
    Place roast in slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    Combine basil, oregano, and water pour over roast.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle with soup mix, cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.
  • Step 4
    Remove meat shred with a fork and keep warm. Strain broth, skim off fat.
  • Step 5
    Serve meat on rolls, use broth for dipping if desired.
