"DO what You want with me" Beef & Cabbage Dinner

This dish has evolved over the years! When I first made it in the 70's I served it over NOODLES. Then one nite I found I had no noodles so I served it over RICE!! Then one nite I walked into the kitchen and my husband and his friend were eating it like a SLOPPY JOE!!!! So as you can see this is a VERY versatile dish! That you can do almost ANYTHING you want with it, thus the name! (don't forget about the potato!!!! Hope you all try and enjoy!

2 lb
ground beef
1 medium
green bell pepper, small dice
1 medium
red bell pepper, small dice
1 medium
onion (any kind you like) small dice
2 clove
garlic, minced
1/2 large
cabbage, shredded on the larger side, or dice your choice
1 large
carrot, shredded
(or) 1 large bag of coleslaw mix
1 Tbsp
oregano, dried
1 Tbsp
basil, dried
2 tsp
salt & pepper or to your taste
1 tsp
crushed red pepper flakes (opt.)
2 pkg
sazon seasoning (opt, but i really love it)
1 c
tomato sauce
1-14.5 oz
can diced tomato
1 lb
box, dried noodles, cooked according to package directions


1brown ground beef in dutch oven, or you favorite heavy bottom pan, Drain. Add beef back to pan and add peppers onion,cabbage and garlic. Cook over med heat until vegetables begin to soften, stirring often
2Add seasonings to meat a vegetables, stir them in and let flavors bloom for about 1 to 2 minutes.
3Add tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes, stir them in well. Simmer on low on the stovetop for 10 or 15 minutes, or if your like me and on the run, and everyone wants to eat at different times, THROW it in the crock-pot on low!! Everyone can feed themselves! And the longer this simmers the better it gets!!! Serve over cooked noodles (or in the kitchen with a buddy,as a sandwich:)))! ENJOY!
