delicious pepper pitas

These are easy and there are never any left afterward. Great for a quick lunch or early dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 large whole green bell peppers, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 16 ounces beef gravy
  • 28 ounces can diced italian tomatoes,drained (drink juice)
  • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 4 - whole pita pockets, cut in 1/2 to make 8 pockets

How To Make delicious pepper pitas

  • Step 1
    In large skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef; drain and return to skillet. Stir in green peppers, onion, and beef gravy. Simmer until peppers are tender, about 15 minutes. Add tomatoes; simmer 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat and add white wine vinegar and rice. Stir until blended. Slice pita pockets in 1/2. Spoon ground beef mixture into each half of pita and serve.
