  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 large
    whole green bell peppers, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 medium
    yellow onion, sliced
  • 16 oz
    beef gravy
  • 28 oz
    can diced italian tomatoes,drained (drink juice)
  • 3 Tbsp
    white wine vinegar
  • 1 c
    cooked white rice
  • 4
    whole pita pockets, cut in 1/2 to make 8 pockets

How to Make Delicious Pepper Pitas


  1. In large skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef; drain and return to skillet. Stir in green peppers, onion, and beef gravy. Simmer until peppers are tender, about 15 minutes. Add tomatoes; simmer 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat and add white wine vinegar and rice. Stir until blended. Slice pita pockets in 1/2. Spoon ground beef mixture into each half of pita and serve.
