mild sausage

29 oz. kidney beans with liquid
1 can(s)
29 oz. pinto beans with liquid
1 c
onion, diced (~1 medium onion)
1/4 c
diced celery (1 stalk)
2 tsp
ground cumin
1 can(s)
29 oz. tomato sauce
1/2 c
diced gree chili (2 chilies)
1 1/2 tsp
black pepper
2 c
water
3 medium
tomatoes, chopped
3 Tbsp
chili powder
2 tsp
salt

How to Make Meat and Bean Chili

Step-by-Step

  • 1brown ground beef and sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off the fat. Using a fork, crumble the meat into small pieces.
  • 2In a large pot, combine the meat plus all the remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes or so, for 3 hours, Serves about 12.
