  • 1 medium banana, very ripe fpartially frozen and broken into parts)
  • 1/2 cup low fat pineapple yogurt (i used activitia,)
  • 1/2 cup prepared and cooled oatmeal
  • 5 - frozen raspberries
  • 3 - frozen blackberries
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon cardamom or nutmeg if you prefer or do not have cardamom
  • 1 package splenda or 1 tsp honey if you prefer
  • 2 cups ice, more if you desire
  • 1 tablespoon flax (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon wheat germ (optional)
  • 1/2 tablespoon benefiber (optional)

How To Make pineapple berry breakfast smoothie

  • Step 1
Place broken partially frozen banana into blender. (If completely frozen, put in microwave for 30-60 seconds, if not frozen at all, place in freezer for about a half an hour. Add yogurt, oatmeal, and half ice. Pulse to break up frozen items. Add berries, vanilla, cardamom, splenda and optional items if you wish and pulse a few more times. Add remainder of ice a little at a time to desired consistency.
  • Step 2
Note: this is a thick smoothie. If it is too thick for you, you can add a bit of water or juice instead of the second batch of ice. This will then make 2 smoothies.
