Morning Smoothie with a Kick

1 largeruby red grapefruit, peeled
1 largesweet apple, cut into 8 chunks
1 mediumpeeled carrot, cut in 3 or 4 pieces
1 smallmeyer lemon, cut in half, unpeeled
6 stalk(s)average size celery (equivalent to about a cup and a half)
1knob of fresh ginger, 1" long x 1/2" dia
1/2 largered bell pepper, cut into chunks
4packets truvia sweetener (or real sugar or honey to taste)
6cubes frozen black coffee (equivalent to maybe half a cup or so) more or less to taste
How to Make Morning Smoothie with a Kick
- Put all the fruit, vegetables, water, Truvia (or other sweetener) and ginger in a Vitamix blender. If you don't have one, you can use a regular blender, but it won't be as smooth.
- Blend on the smoothie setting, or until smooth.
- Add frozen black coffee and blend until smooth.
- Serve cold. Garnish with an orange slice.
