Morning Smoothie with a Kick

I got a Vitamix for Christmas from Santa, and I LOVE it! I use it all the time - mostly to make fruit & veggie smoothies, sometimes soups, and occasionally spreads and such. Today, I felt like a ginger, celery, apple, carrot, grapefruit, lemon, bell pepper smoothie. Usually, I'd add kale or spinach, but today, I didn't have any. Nor did I have any ice! All I had was cubes of frozen coffee. I thought, well, if it's awful - oh well. To my tremendous surprise, it was extraordinary! Something about that roasted coffee flavor with the lemon and other fruits. I will definitely be making this again.

How to Make Morning Smoothie with a Kick

Step-by-Step

  1. Put all the fruit, vegetables, water, Truvia (or other sweetener) and ginger in a Vitamix blender. If you don't have one, you can use a regular blender, but it won't be as smooth.
  2. Blend on the smoothie setting, or until smooth.
  3. Add frozen black coffee and blend until smooth.
  4. Serve cold. Garnish with an orange slice.
