Mixed Berry and Apple Oatmeal Smoothie

After buying more apples than I could finish by myself, I decided to cut them up and freeze them along with fruit that I froze before it would go bad. Freezing your fruit is a great way to take advantage of sales, and if you drink smoothies like I do in the morning, it is a great way to thicken your smoothie and keep it cold as well.

Add to Grocery List

1/2 c
prepared oatmeal, cooled
1/2 c
mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries and blackberries)
1/4 c
raspberry flavored yogurt, low fat
1/3 c
milk, 1%
apple, sliced and frozen (i had skin on)
1/4 tsp
2 pkg
1 Tbsp
wheat germ- optional
1 Tbsp
flax- optional

How to Make Mixed Berry and Apple Oatmeal Smoothie


  • 1Combine ingredients in a blender and pulse to begin to break down. If desired, add ice, a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency. I used about a cup to cup and a half of ice.
  • 2Note: You also use soy milk or almond milk in this. To omit milk, you can substitute with a cranberry/raspberry juice.
