I love smoothies and when I make them, I tend to put all things fruity that I have on hand in them. I just made this one for the first time and decided that it was so delicious I had to share it with you. This was a big hit with my family and I have been asked to make it again real soon. I hope you make it soon too!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Tart, sweet, satisfying and good for you too! And the color couldn't be prettier. The flavors of very fruit blend well together. Great for a hot summer day or an after-school treat. This could be dressed up a bit with a dollop of whipped cream! Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 1 large
    orange, juiced
  • 3/4 c
crushed pineapple, or enough to make 1 cup when added to orange juice.
  • 1 medium
    apple, cubed with skin
  • 6 oz
container strawberry or peach yogurt, frozen & cut in chunks
  • 1/8 c
    honey, more if needed
  • 2 c
mixture of raspberries, blackberries & blueberries, frozen
  • 1 c
    strawberries, frozen
  • 1 large
    banana, frozen and cut up
  • 1/4 c
    apple juice (to start)

How to Make Jeanne's Very Berry Smoothie

Step-by-Step

  1. Squeeze orange an put in a 1 cup measuring cup. Add enough crushed pineapple to make one full cup. Place in blender.
  2. Add cut up apples.
  3. Blend mixture until smooth.
  4. Add cut up frozen yogurt.
  5. Blend until smooth.
  6. Add honey and blend until smooth.
  7. Add mix of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. Blend until smooth.
  8. Add strawberries and blend until smooth.
  9. Add chopped banana and blend until smooth. Taste and add more honey if berries are to tart.
  10. At this point you can add apple juice if needed and blend until smooth. Add more if necessary. I didn't because it was already thick enough and cold enough!
  11. Serve and enjoy!
  12. HINT/SUGGESTION:
If you have any of the smoothie mixture left over, you can freeze it. As I make smoothies, I just keep adding to the frozen mixture until I have enough to make one or two smoothies. I then place container in Microwave and nuke until it is at a consistency that can be stirred into a thick smoothie. It's like I just made it....smooth, icy, cold and perfect for those days when you are in a hurry!
