I came up with this creamy hot chocolate recipe years ago, when we used to sled ride all day long in the cold...and wanted something warm and satisfying while we thawed LOL!...we would always make a huge pot of this creamy deliciousness...I have always loved a big dollop of fluffy marshmallow cream in mine...my kids prefer whipped cream...I hope you give this a try sometime...it's so good!!...I sometimes add a splash of Kahlua to mine...yum!

How to Make Creamy Hot Chocolate - Cassies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large saucepan, stir together the cocoa, sugar and salt.
  2. Pour in the milk, cream and water...Using a whisk, stir to blend the cocoa into the milk. Remain stirring over medium heat, until heated through to your desired temperature...hot enough to melt your marshmallows.
  3. Take from heat and add your extracts and cinnamon if using.

I add a dollop of marshmallow cream to the bottom of my mug, then it floats to the top as the hot chocolate is ladled in.

    Enjoy! It's delicious!
