How to Make Amaretto Liqueur
- 1Scrape as much pith from the rind that you can.
In heavy saucepan, add sugar, water and lemon rind and bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove lemon rind and discard.
- 2While hot, strain the simple syrup through a coffee filter and let it cool completely.
- 3Add vodka and extracts. Mix well and store in a well sealed bottle. Enjoy!
- 4Serve over ice cream or use to make your favorite coctail. This also makes a great homemade gift!
